Good to know: This is a border-area destination. Indian nationals should carry a government photo ID (Aadhaar/passport) for routine checks at army posts en route; foreign nationals need prior clearance for some sectors. We confirm the current requirement for your dates and arrange the guidance — it's a normal part of visiting, not a hurdle.
Why Teetwal
Teetwal is the far edge of the Karnah bowl — a village where a footbridge over the Kishanganga marks the line between two administrations, and where the newly rebuilt Sharda temple has revived an ancient pilgrimage memory. The drive over Sadhna Top is spectacular; the arrival feels like reaching the end of a chapter of geography.
What we arrange
Transport with drivers who do the Karnah run regularly, homestay arrangements in Teetwal or Tangdhar, checkpoint guidance, and combined itineraries with Keran for the complete frontier circuit.
Good to know
This is a full-day drive each way — treat it as a two-night journey. Autumn (September–October) paints the Karnah terraces gold and is our favourite window.
Trips that include Teetwal
Teetwal trips are built to order — most guests add it to a Srinagar itinerary. Tell us your dates and we'll plan the route, stays and permits end to end.
