Destination Guide
Srinagar
Dal Lake, shikaras, Mughal gardens and the old city.
- Best season
- April – October (Tulip season: early April)
Why Srinagar
Srinagar is where every Kashmir trip begins and, for most travellers, where it ends with a night on a houseboat. The city sits around Dal and Nigeen lakes, ringed by the Zabarwan hills, with the Mughal gardens — Nishat, Shalimar and Chashme Shahi — stepping down to the water.
What we arrange
Airport pickup from Sheikh ul-Alam Airport (SXR), houseboat and hotel stays graded by category, shikara rides at Nehru Park ghat, and old-city walks covering Jamia Masjid, the spice market at Maharaj Gunj and Zaina Kadal. Our office is at Shalteng Chowk, fifteen minutes from the airport, so someone from our team is always nearby.
Good to know
Book houseboats on the quieter Nigeen Lake if you want stillness; Dal is livelier. Tulip Garden opens for roughly three weeks from late March. Winter (December–February) is cold but beautiful, and hotel rates drop sharply.
